Field Practical Guide - String Trimmer

● Ear Plugs
● Safety Glasses
● Gloves
● Work Boots
Equipment & Tools needed:
● String Trimmer
● Extra String
● Fuel can with fuel mix
Materials needed:
Not Applicable
Pre-Training Session Preparation:
● Select location for training.
● Schedule training session with student(s).
● Make sure everyone participating has the Personal Protection Equipment.
● Collect and have ready the needed equipment and materials.
Step 1: Demonstrate
● Proper fueling with correct fuel mix.
● Proper installation of string.
● Go over safety best practices.
● Start machine.
● Show use of machine best practices.
Focus Points:
● Turn the machine off if other people approach.
● Use of String Trimmer without scalping lawn.
● Safe use of String Trimmer near cars and windows.
Step 2: Observe:
●Have the student demonstrate proper use of the equipment back to you.
Step 3: Re-Demonstrate:
●Point out what the student did correctly.
●Demonstrate what the student should improve upon.
