Field Practical Guide - Push Mower

Personal Protection Equipment required:
 
● Ear Plugs
● Safety Glasses
● Gloves
● Work Boots 

Equipment & Tools needed:
● Push Mower
● Fuel can with fuel mix

Materials needed:  
● Not Applicable

Pre-Training Session Preparation:

● Select location for training.
● Schedule training session with student(s).
● Make sure everyone participating has the Personal Protection Equipment.
● Collect and have ready the needed equipment and materials. 

Step 1: Demonstrate 
● Proper fueling with correct mix.
● Checking the oil.
● Go over safety best practices.
● Start machine.
● Show use of machine best practices.
    Focus Points:
          1. Areas to use, and not use, Push Mowers.
          2. Turn the machine off if other people approach.
          3. Point the discharge chute away from garden beds, windows and vehicles.
          4. Mowing in straight lines with overlaps.

Step 2: Observe:
● Have the student demonstrate proper use of the equipment back to you.

Step 3: Re-Demonstrate:
● Point out what the student did correctly.
● Demonstrate what the student should improve upon.
