Field Practical Guide - Truck Backing

Personal Protection Equipment required:
 
● Ear Plugs
● Safety Glasses
● Gloves
● Work Boots 

Equipment & Tools needed:
● Truck

Materials needed:  
● Not Applicable

Pre-Training Session Preparation:

● Select location for training.
● Schedule training session with student(s).
● Make sure everyone participating has the Personal Protection Equipment. 

Step 1: Demonstrate 
● Discuss the importance of drivers having a spotter when backing up trucks.
● Demonstrate proper location to stand behind truck.
● Demonstrate proper signals to use.

Step 2: Observe:
● Have the student demonstrate proper location to stand behind truck
● Have student demonstrate proper hand signals.

Step 3: Re-Demonstrate:
● Point out what the student did correctly.
● Demonstrate what the student should improve upon.
